A Really Big Change to Maze Mice's Release (it's a good thing)

Hey there! Maze Mice is releasing into Early Access in about 12 hours, and I'm about to make a giant change to what I had planned for the game. This won't really matter to most people but I want to be transparent about it for my own integrity. Let me explain:

I had initially advertised that Maze Mice would launch with 8 playable characters and 30 upgrades. I then planned to have major content patches with new upgrades, characters, and features as they became ready.

However, in the weeks leading up to Maze Mice's release, a lot of what I had planned to release over the course of several months became ready much faster than I thought it would. So, I'm just gonna release all of the upgrades and character that are ready as soon as the game launches tomorrow.

This means that Maze Mice is instead releasing with 30 playable characters and 63 upgrades. It just didn't make sense to keep this content from you when it was 100% playable.

However, this means there won't be a huge amount of content released throughout Maze Mice's Early Access period. In other words, you'll get a lot more content now, at the cost of having smaller content patches later on. I think this for the best since I'd rather the people paying for Maze Mice at launch not have to wait for content that is already ready to be enjoyed.

There will still be a few more upgrades added to the game later, but there probably won't be any more characters, 30 already is quite a few for our pixel artist to have drawn!

One last thing, the trailer that I'm releasing tomorrow has been done for a while and states "the game will launch with 8 playable characters and 30 upgrades, with that number doubling over the course of Early Access." I don't have time to change it since it's already been submitted to some press outlets so just consider the "doubling" to have happened already.

I really can't wait to share this game with you. Thank you for reading.
